NTI Webinar: TCRP Report 163: Strategy Guide to Enable and Promote the Use of Fixed-Route Transit by People with Disabilities

TRB is cosponsoring a webinar on December 1, 2016 from 2:00-3:30 PM ET that featured the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Report 163: Strategy Guide to Enable and Promote the Use of Fixed-Route Transit by People with Disabilities. Participants should register in advance. The National Transit Institute (NTI) is sponsoring this webinar, and there is no fee to register for this event.

This webinar will explore how TCRP Report 163 provides public transit agencies ways fulfill the primary goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) by making mainstream fixed-route bus and rail systems accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities. The webinar will cover the research methodology and survey instruments used, and overviews of the responses, as well as offer summaries of the key findings in the following areas:

  • Overall suggested strategy
  • Current use of fixed-route transit by persons with disabilities
  • Bus stop and pedestrian infrastructure improvement efforts
  • Fare incentive programs ADA paratransit eligibility determination programs.
